 Ty is a former Engagement Manager for Sheshunoff Consulting + Solutions with over 27 years of financial services experience both in consulting and bank management. As part of the Consulting Solutions Group, he worked with financial institutions to identify areas to increase profitability, productivity, and efficiency in bank operations. Managing projects and directing teams are his strengths in providing high performance solutions for clients. During his career, Ty has had extensive experience in consulting projects for regional, community banks and credit unions nationwide, ranging from $200 million to $20 billion in asset size. Areas of expertise include: Strategic Planning, Management Consulting, Executive Coaching, Project Management, Organization Alignment, Lending (Commercial, Consumer, Mortgage, Credit Administration, and Loan Operations), Retail Banking, Technology, and Risk Management.

Recently, Ty has worked with several community banks and credit unions in Credit Risk Management and Regulatory Review/Response with the objective of improving the lending, credit and loan operation functions. Prior, he was involved in full banking engagements to increase bank performance. Revenue and expense opportunities in these banks ranged from $250 million to $8 billion. Ty has directed the implementation of Pricing Partner (commercial loan pricing and incentive model) in several banks for over five years. Pricing Partner has helped banks improve both margin and ROA on loans. Implementation experience has included: Brand Bank ($1.7B), Arizona State Credit Union ($1.3B), Harborstone Credit Union ($750MM), Westfield Bank ($1.3B), Central Bank-Kansas ($675MM), Texas State Bank ($8B), Standard Bank ($2B), ViewPoint Bank ($2B), Citizens Bank ($6B), and HP Credit Union ($1.2B).

On a major conversion/merger project, he managed three retail delivery project teams. He centralized the lending department for a $1.6B Midwest bank. At Riggs Bank in 2003, he was a Project Manager for the Item Processing conversion. Other consulting projects included: credit risk management, loan operations, mortgage operations, small-business lending, negotiation skills training, consolidating retail operations, staffing analysis, organizational review, and improving workflow processes.

Ty began his banking career with Wachovia Bank in North Carolina. After 12 years with Wachovia, Ty had his own management consulting business focusing on business plans, SBA loan packaging, credit, accounting, and customer service. He is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, North Carolina, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He has completed additional certification/coursework through the American Institute of Banking, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers.  He is a HelixPLAN Facilitator and a member of the Project Management Institute.  Ty is also a member of the following associations:  Project Management Institute, Helix-Plan Facilitation, Blueworks Workflow Group, Credit Union Network, Management Consultants Network, Strategy and Management Consultants, Credit Officers Network, and Engagement Managers Group.
