With almost 40 years of financial services experience, John has led major projects and consulted in national and international financial institutions ranging in size from the community bank market and credit unions up to a US$1 trillion international financial institution. He has significant experience in implementing organizational, process and product design, merger and consolidation, information technology, and other types of change in both the commercial and trust organizations of financial institutions.

John has worked with several national and international contract negotiation firms. In his roles as practice manager, engagement manager, and senior contract specialist, John has led projects encompassing corporate and retail services, operations, lending, trust, data processing, and telecommunications.  His contract negotiating efforts have included reengineering all aspects banking business lines, as well as the marketing, financial, and executive functions.  He has also been instrumental in the development of contracting methodologies and approaches.

John began his banking career in 1974 with a large national bank.  While at the bank he worked in several operations areas and held positions in the indirect lending unit.  He also served as an internal contract specialist responsible for numerous bank disciplines, primarily retail banking and operations, and he trained and monitored a team of contract experts.

In addition to John’s diverse contracting experience, he has also spoken at several conferences and presented several webinars regarding profit improvement strategies.  Other speaking engagements have included a presentation on retail banking in other countries for an Australian banking conference and a retail strategy presentation for a Malaysian bank conference.  John has also published several articles regarding various aspects of the Trust industry.

John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting from Georgia State University.  He has also attended numerous professional development workshops on business process reengineering.
